As we know, the Majors Lubrizol, Infineum, Afton and Chevron four companies occupied around 80% additive market globally, especially in the driveline additive (ATF, DCT, CVT, ect.), they have more monopoly market share.
According to public information, there is no Chinese additive company can produce driveline additive up to now, though it is the second largest market in the world, but that means: Chinese additive companies will not develop and produce driveline additive in the future?
I once had dinner with the boss of one professional Chinese additive companies with multiple years experience, we have talked about this driveline additive topic. And he is not satisfied with this market situation, and devoted to make Chinese own Driveline Additive Package. In fact, he has done that kind of R & D work for few years, and things seems to be better with some progress.
Nowdays, more and more companies in various industries are leaning from Huawei, to invest more money and time on the R & D work, that meets the trends of Chinese economy transfer mode.
With respect to the Lubricant Additive industry, through there is still technical barrier in driveline addive, there maybe dozens of Lubricant Additive Components in the formulation, but because of the passion and investment of some Chinese companies in that area, we have reason to believe, one day we will see Chinese source ATF Additive will appear in the market.
