Introduction of Antifoaming Agent for Lubricating Oil During World War II, the foaming of lubricants used by American aircraft and vehicles caused serious problems. In order to find out the principle and solution of lube oil foaming, some oil companies and research institutes at home and abroad have studied it. In 1943, the company and Gulf company also discovered that liquid organosiloxane is a very effective antifoaming agent, so far it is the most important anti foaming agent in lubricants. At present, there are three main types of anti-foaming agents in the market: silicon-containing, non-silicon and composite anti-foaming agents. Here are the following anti-foaming agents. 
Performance of Antifoaming Agent: There are many reasons for the foaming of lubricating oil. Firstly, the oil itself is oxidized; secondly, the high-speed stirring of lubricating oil containing air; thirdly, various additives are used in oil products, especially those with active surface; there are several ways to solve the foaming of lubricating oil: physical anti-foaming method, mechanical anti-foaming method, chemical anti-foaming method, among which chemical anti-foaming method is the most commonly used. 
Non-silicon antifoaming agents are mostly polymers, and acrylate or methacrylate are used more frequently. Two kinds of non-silicon anti-foaming agents (T911 T912) were also studied after the 1990s in China. The tests show that the non-silicon anti-foaming agents are efficient in acidic media, and have less influence on air release value than silicone oil, and the anti-foaming agents do not decrease after long-term storage and have good stability.
