Lubricating oil emulsification is one of the common problems in air compressors, which seriously affects the use of compressors. Reasons for emulsification of lubricating oil

Water causes:

Working environment long-term humid air, inhaled air moisture is too large: condensate and oil separation is not clear;

Causes of Qi:

The load rate is not high (the onsite air consumption of the air compressor is too low, resulting in long-term unloading operation and the unit operating temperature is too low), which will lead to emulsification of lubricating oil.

Oil causes:

1, the use of inferior lubricating oil;

2, the use of lubricating oil for too long, oil performance indicators change;

Reasons for equipment:

1. The gap of the piston ring of the air compressor piston is too large.

2, the cooler collects too much water. When the cooler collects water, the water will enter the cylinder (compressed air) and then flow into the body to emulsify the oil, so the cooler should often be drained.

3, the air filter is blocked. When the air filter is blocked, the oil is constantly used in a relatively sealed environment, with large internal pressure and high temperature, which simply damages the function of the oil.

Method of determining lubricating oil deterioration

1. Method of observation

Common phenomena of lubricating oil emulsification: After lubricating oil emulsification, from the compressor lubricating oil level observation window, you can see that the lubricating oil is milky or yellowish white, the oil contains small bubbles, and the oil level will rise; Compressor with oil scale, some will have milky or yellowish white liquid, overflow from the oil scale insert port; At the same time, it is also accompanied by abnormal sound of organic oil pump, unstable oil pressure and alarm of spindle tile temperature control device.

2. Touch the law

When the lubricating oil deteriorates, the touch will also change, which is the basis for judging whether the lubricating oil deteriorates. High quality lubricating oil has a strong sense of lubrication, and there is no obvious friction when polishing with fingers. If the finger feels obvious friction during the grinding process, it proves that the impurity content in the lubricating oil exceeds the standard and should be replaced immediately

3. Detection method

The flow state of lubricating oil can be used as the basis for judging whether it is deteriorated. Lift the beaker with the oil to be measured, slowly pour it into the empty beaker on the table, and observe the flow of the lubricating oil while pouring. If it is uniform, slender, continuous flow state, indicating that the quality of the oil is good; If the flow rate fluctuates greatly and the fluid volume fluctuates greatly, deterioration is demonstrated. The initial color of the lubricating oil is very light. After a period of use, the color of the oil will gradually deepen and become cloudy. As a rule of thumb, if the color is too dark or cloudy, it should not be used.

Lubricating oil emulsification harm to air compressor

Lubricating oil emulsification, can cause compressor shutdown, affect normal production, serious can make the compressor scrapped, and even cause major accidents. Mechanical failures caused by lubricating oil emulsification in screw compressors include: host bearing stuck, rotor damage, etc.

Prevention of lubricating oil emulsification and countermeasures

Warm tips: before starting the machine every day, drain the water under the Air Compressor Oil barrel, open the oil valve, drain the water, and close the oil drain valve when you see the lubricating oil, especially for the air compressor site gas consumption is too low or the oil temperature cannot reach more than 80 degrees for a long time.

The service cycle of air compressor lubricating oil is about 2000 hours, but the specific needs to depend on the use conditions.

For the emulsification of lubricating oil caused by excessive moisture in the medium gas, it is necessary to clean all the parts of lubricating oil that have been in contact with the emulsion, especially the important parts such as the oil separator, oil filter, oil pump, compressor host, and so on.

If the lubricating oil emulsification time of screw compressor is long, the body temperature is too high, and there is an abnormal sound, the compressor host should be disassembled, cleaned, and checked the wear of the components, and then reassembled.
