Application of PAG Polyether Base Oil in High Temperature Chain Oil

PAG polyether based oils include polymer polyethers, PAG water-soluble polyethers, and PAG water-soluble polyethers.

PAG polyether is a random polymer composed of EO and PO starting from different amines or alcohols. Polyether is a colorless liquid with a wide viscosity grade distribution. From 20 to 75000, polyethers belong to polymers and have a chain length/molecular weight distribution, which is also the most critical indicator of product performance. Polyether products have great elasticity, and the performance of polyethers can be adjusted by selecting different initiators. The physical properties are also affected by the ratio of ethylene oxide (EO) to propylene oxide (PO). The water solubility and pour point depend on the EO/PO ratio.

Among them, polymer polyether: In water ethylene glycol, polymer polyether is used as a Base Oil and thickener for water ethylene glycol refractory hydraulic fluid, and can be applied in HFC systems. High viscosity water-soluble products provide lubrication for fluid power;

In PAG quenching medium, the cooling rate of the quenching solution can be controlled by controlling the concentration and molecular weight of the polymer in the quenching solution.

Used as a high-temperature chain oil base oil
Some of the polyethers are used as polyether base oils for high-temperature chain oils, and are widely used for lubrication of chain transmission systems in high-temperature ovens, textiles, printing and dyeing machines, and food grade equipment. They are also suitable for chain transmission systems in automotive paint baking lines, high-temperature drying rooms in the building materials industry, and other equipment.

This type of polyether product, when applied to high-temperature chain oil, will have the following characteristics:

[1] Excellent high and low temperature performance, the machine is easy to start at low temperatures, and can be used for a long time under conditions not exceeding 220 "C:

[2) High flash point, low volatility, extremely low carbon deposition and coking during long-term use at high temperatures, which can maintain equipment cleanliness for a long time:

[3] Excellent lubrication performance, excellent lubricity even under high temperature and heavy conditions:

[4) Excellent cleanliness, able to clean chains contaminated with other poor chain lubricants

[5] Non toxic, odorless, harmless to the human body, and harmless to the environment.

PAG Polyether


Fully synthetic ester chain oil, without any other oil, can meet most high-temperature places, such as SMT reflow soldering soldering, textile printing and dyeing stenter, paint baking workshop transmission, various oven transmission chains, etc. Like high-temperature chain oil, high-temperature chain oil for heat setting machines.

High temperature chain oil for automotive spraying lines can be used at temperatures ranging from -30 ℃ to 250 ℃. This type of high temperature chain oil often encounters shrinkage problems during use. To solve these problems, the following adjustments must be made:

1. It is necessary to increase the flash point of the base oil PAG polyether. Low flash point can easily vaporize at high temperatures, and then it will be discharged through the openings on both sides. When encountering low temperatures, condensation and dripping will cause shrinkage holes. Therefore, we need to lower the flash point of PAG polyether at 110-120 degrees Celsius, and the flash point can be increased by 20-30 degrees Celsius.

2. Do not add additives containing silicon. Silicon can cause poor compatibility with paint, leading to shrinkage.


3. Phenolic antioxidants should not be added, such as L135 antioxidant, which can lower the flash point and also lead to poor compatibility. Therefore, phenolic antioxidants should not be added.
