The oil is the blood of the engine and plays a role in lubrication and cooling in the operation of the engine. According to the information, the latest oil level for diesel and natural gas engines has risen to the CK-4 level.
The CI-level oil that can meet the national five-emission standard still accounts for most of the domestic market CK-4 grade oil, which is likely to be foreign, as this is the new level of oil that has only been present in the last two years. The diesel oil standard developed in accordance with the American Petroleum Institute (API) can be divided into CC, CD, CE, CF, CF-4, CG-4, CH-4, CI-4, CJ-4, etc. from low to high.
The CJ-4 oil is the highest grade prior to the occurrence of the CK-4 grade oil, and the overall performance of this grade of oil is also high, including such as corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance, oxidation resistance, filter clogging, and oil consumption.
At this stage, in our truck service market, the most frequently used is the CI-4 engine oil, as this level of oil has been met for the national five-engine. The lower grade of the CH-4 grade oil can only meet the use of the national three-engine vehicle, such as the DPF particle trap, the CGR exhaust gas recirculation device, in the national five-tail gas treatment device. The use of low-grade oil in the SCR selective catalytic reduction device can cause the oil to become thick and bad, the filter is blocked and the engine wear is increased, so that the resistance of the engine moving part is increased, the power is reduced, the oil consumption is increased, and the service life of the engine is finally shortened.
The two high-level oil standard marks introduced in 2016 focus on the entry of diesel oil into the new phase.
In December 2016, the American Petroleum Institute (API) authorized two new diesel engine oil standards: API CK-4 and API FA-4. These two new standards replace the API CJ-4 standard introduced in October 2006. The development of this standard, which is a milestone in the engine oil, marks the beginning of the use of more advanced engine oil from this road and off-road vehicles. Although it is the same engine oil standard, the two types of oil also differ. The CK-4 oil can be simply understood as an upgraded version of CJ-4, which can fully replace the CJ-4 and the following old-fashioned engine oils, supporting the viscosity grade specified in CJ-4. For example, the market is more than 15W-40, 10W-30, 5w-30 and so on. The FA-4 oil, which is developed on the basis of CK-4, is more performance-focused on the improvement of the economic performance of the fuel and is suitable for newer grades of engines and is able to meet the requirements of the engine emission standards for the next few years.
The CK-4 engine oil has the advantages of strong lubrication and fuel saving, and the six natural gas models will be used in China environmental emission regulation standards, whether commercial or passenger vehicles are basically set according to the European standard, before the national six standards, The environmental standards in our country have been lower than the European standards. But from the beginning of the country, domestic emission regulations have begun to synchronize with europe and will even go beyond european standards. Therefore, the earlier lower grade oil has not been able to meet the use requirements of modern advanced engines, which also speeds up the birth of the CK-4 and the FA-4 level oil from the other hand.
After the API CK-4 oil has been successfully developed, it not only meets the requirements of the high emission standard of the engine, but also reduces the economic performance of the engine fuel and improves the lubricating property of the engine, and the oil quantity or the gas loss of the engine is lower, the fuel is saved, and the service life of the engine is prolonged.

At present, on the high-end heavy-duty diesel engine, such as Volvo, Daimler, Kurt, man, Komatsu, Case and other European and American models, this grade of oil is used. With the development of time, the API CK-4 lubricating oil will soon become the benchmark product of the heavy-duty diesel engine oil, and the lubricating oil used in the after-sales service market of our country will soon be replaced by this new-grade engine oil.
