In the pipeline system of automobile exhaust pipes, the elbow is the weakest part, and its forming quality directly affects the performance of the entire pipeline. The plastic bending forming of pipes is a complex process that integrates material nonlinearity, geometric nonlinearity, and boundary condition nonlinearity. After bending forming, it is easy to produce quality defects such as rebound, thinning or even cracking of the outer wall thickness, increasing or even destabilizing wrinkling of the inner wall thickness, and cross-sectional distortion. Therefore, in addition to selecting appropriate equipment and production process parameters, appropriate lubrication can help complete the bending forming of pipes, improve product accuracy, and extend the life of the mold.

Insufficient lubrication of bent pipe oil, insufficient accuracy/inner wrinkling of automotive exhaust pipe after bending.
Customers produce automotive exhaust pipes and other products, providing product support for General Motors, Nissan, and others.
Emulsified bend oil will leave oil stains on site, making it difficult to clean, and some bend oil has insufficient lubrication performance, which affects the quality of the product.
Production process and principle
The commonly used equipment for pipe bending includes hydraulic pipe bending machines and CNC pipe bending machines. In the automotive industry, industrial production generally uses CNC pipe bending machines, resulting in higher product accuracy and production efficiency.
Existing problems
Ordinary bending oil cannot meet the bending forming requirements, resulting in insufficient product accuracy and easy inner wrinkling.
Solution
Under the condition that the process parameters are set reasonably, the company replaced the water-soluble elbow lubricant products in the state of semi fluid gel to replace the oil-based, oil-water dispersed (emulsified) and other oil-bearing lubricants commonly used in the process of bending.
Effectiveness of use
The product has been successfully tested once and can meet the lubrication needs of plastic bending forming of pipes.
