However, there is a problem that plagues everyone when using gear oil, that is, the foam problem. So do you know why the use of gear oil for production will produce foam?
Foam problem:
Gear oil is prone to foam during use. Gear oils contain 5-10 micrograms/g of anti-foaming agents. Poor dispersion of anti-foaming agents or poor storage stability, water in the fuel tank, and sludge in the fuel tank will all cause the production of industrial gear oil foam. The oil level of the gear oil tank is not high enough. The large amount of air entering during operation will also increase the production of industrial gear oil foam, so that the original foam has not disappeared, and a large amount of new foam is produced; sometimes too much foam is generated The inlet popped out and overflowed.
The hazards of foam:
Excessive foam accelerates the oxidation of gear oil and causes insufficient lubrication of gears. If foam occurs, you can add gear oil of the same type and brand to appropriately increase the oil level of the gear oil tank, reduce air entry, strengthen the sedimentation and separation of water in the gear oil, and add an appropriate amount of anti-foaming of the same type as the oil formula used. Or compound Anti-foaming Agent and other methods to solve the problem.
Emulsification problem:
Industrial gear oil is mixed with water during use. If the oil does not have the ability to quickly separate the water mixed in the oil or the separation ability is poor, it is possible to emulsify the oil. The emulsified gear oil has poor lubrication and fluidity properties, and the extreme pressure, anti-wear and anti-rust properties of the oil are destroyed. When it is serious, the emulsified gear oil becomes milky white paste, and the gear oil should be replaced immediately; when the emulsification is not serious, consider adding a demulsifier to improve the demulsification performance of the gear oil. In addition, high-quality gear oil should be used to ensure good demulsibility.
Measures that can be taken:
