Factory workers often report that the workpiece corrosion and tool corrosion are caused by the use of cutting fluid? In fact, it is not entirely due to cutting fluid. There are many reasons for cutting fluid corrosion, including internal factors and improper use. How can we prevent this?
What causes corrosion? 1. Overlapping stacking of machined parts; 2. The PH value of cutting fluid is too high or too low. If PH value is greater than 9.2, it will corrode aluminum. Therefore, the appropriate PH value should be selected according to the metal materials; 3. The dissimilar metal materials contact each other and cause corrosion; 4. Place the workpiece with paper or wood; 5. Overlapping stacking of machined parts; 6. The cutting fluid has been used for too long or is polluted, and the number of bacteria in it exceeds the standard; 7. The humidity of the working environment is too high; 8. The machine tool has electric leakage or poor grounding, which is easy to cause electrochemical corrosion.
How to prevent this from happening? 1. Prepare cutting fluid with pure water, and the concentration of cutting fluid reaches the recommended value in the manual. Common tap water is used to prepare cutting fluid, especially natural water and well water. Since natural water has not been disinfected, it is easy to introduce bacteria and other impurities, which will affect the quality of cutting fluid and cause corrosion; 2. If necessary, use antirust liquid; 3. Add bactericide to control the number of bacteria and avoid the production of bacteria; 4. Check the humidity, and pay attention to control the humidity of the working environment within the appropriate range; 5. Prevent the cutting fluid from being polluted by other oils; The cutting fluid that has not been used shall be stored separately. The cutting fluid that is being used shall be used in an independent oil tank. It is not allowed to mix with cutting fluid from other channels and sources; 6. Avoid contact with dissimilar materials, such as aluminum alloy, cast iron (including magnesium) and copper.
