For manufacturers who use cutting fluids, rust, blisters, and fog lamps often appear when cutting fluids are used; in general, these phenomena are caused by the growth of bacteria. To eliminate these phenomena, you need to understand the classification of bacteria in the cutting fluid and living habits, and restrain the growth of bacteria at the source, so as to provide an ideal environment for the use of the cutting fluid.

1. The cutting fluid mainly includes aerobic bacteria, anaerobic bacteria and fungi. What are the habits and hazards of these three types of bacteria? How to solve it?
1.1 The habit of aerobic bacteria: it breeds rapidly in an oxygen-rich environment, and generally exists in water-soluble cutting fluid, cutting concentrate and oil leakage (especially guideway oil).
Hazard: A large amount of it will shorten the service life of processing tools and make the processing fluid unstable.


1.2 Anaerobic bacteria habits: easy to breed in the anaerobic environment, most of them exist in cutting fluid and machine oil leakage.

Hazard: Digest the sulfur in the cutting fluid and machine tool oil leakage, and decompose it into oxygen sulfide gas, which has a serious smell of rotten eggs. It seriously affects the respiratory tract of the staff, and may also cause the PH value of the processing fluid to drop, which may cause rust and instability in the processing industry.


1.3 Fungal habits: Located between aerobic bacteria and anaerobic bacteria, they will compete with aerobic bacteria for oxygen, and they exist on the inner wall of the pipe and nozzle of the machine tool.

Hazard: Sticky things will block the pipeline, which will reduce the supply of processing industry and affect the tool life and product quality.

Solution: 

1) Use a fungicide.

2) Keep the pH of the cutting fluid between 8.5 and 9.5.

3) Keep the concentration of the cutting fluid in direct proportion to the fungicide.

4) Test the water hardness. 

5) Increase the concentration ratio.

2. Why are there rust, foam, fogging, residue, itchy skin and other problems when using cutting fluid? How to solve it?
Rust: Since the processing fluids all contain a certain degree of anti-rust ability and have a specified concentration of use, they can generally meet the anti-rust of the processing process.
The causes of rust include the following:


2.1 Decreased ph value leads to decreased concentration; work also pollutes the bed; humid environment

Solution: 

1) Increase the ph value, increase the concentration, and increase the bactericide. 

2) Try to use deionized water for liquid preparation to ensure the concentration and use the liquid preparation method correctly.

3) Reduce the pollution of miscellaneous oil. 

4) Control the potential difference.


2.2 The foam is generally formed due to the mixing of surfactants

Reasons for formation: 

1) Concentration is too high.

2) Water quality is too soft.

3) Liquid level deviation. 

4) Nozzle pressure is too high. 

5) There are too many floating oils


Solution: 

1) Check and adjust the concentration. 

2) Detect the ph value. 

3) Adjust the pressure of the nozzle. 

4) Use a defoamer. 

5) Detect the softness and hardness of the water. 

6) The mailbox hydraulic pressure is not less than 80%.


2.3 The vapors produced by fogging, water droplets and oil droplets are suspended in the air, which is called fogging.

Causes: 

1) The machine tool system has a high oil content, especially the emulsified liquid will reduce the surface tension of the processing fluid, and it is easy to produce oil mist; 

2) The oil mist collector is broken. 

3) The agitation is large.

Solutions: 

1) Reduce miscellaneous oil. 

2) Use additives to increase the surface tension of the processing fluid. 

3) Check the oil mist collector.

4) Use products with low oil content as much as possible while ensuring the normal operation of the oil mist collector.

2.4 Residues: generally refers to the evaporation of water, leaving some chemical deposits of calcium and magnesium. The biggest hazard is that it cannot be washed away with water, and the most difficult to solve is the synthetic residue.

Reasons: 

1) The concentration is too high. 

2) Some harmful minerals gather together. 

3) The emulsion is unstable.

Solution: Clean the machine often.

3. How to solve the itchy skin caused by lipochemicals?

Solution: 

1) Apply hand cream before get off work and wash hands promptly after work. 

2) Prevent workers from mixing some strong alkalis into the processing fluid. 

3) Try to wear gloves. 

4) Strengthen personal hygiene.
