Reduce fluctuations in cutting fluid concentration
Any brand or model of cutting fluid has a manufacturer's recommended concentration range, which is not only related to the cutting fluid itself, but also directly related to the machining process.

It is recommended to strictly control the concentration of cutting fluid within the recommended range during daily maintenance. For processes with high requirements for precision machining or machining quality, an appropriate increase of 1% to 2% should be made on the basis of the manufacturer's recommended range. This not only reduces the impact of concentration fluctuations on machining quality and tool life, but also effectively extends the service life of the cutting fluid.

In fact, the maintenance cost of cutting fluid is not as high as imagined. The reason is that the vast majority of the evaporated water during the processing is water, so under normal circumstances, the concentration of liquid replenishment will be much lower than the recommended concentration.

Control of concentration and liquid level
1. Maintain a reasonable liquid level, generally speaking, the liquid level of the centralized liquid supply system is controlled between 60% to 80% of the tank capacity; The liquid level of a single machine should not be lower than 80% of the tank capacity as much as possible.

2. Set the target value, which is the median of the concentration range; Below this value, fluid replacement should be done.

3. When replenishing the liquid, it is recommended to use a mixer. If a mixer is not equipped, the liquid should be added at the point with the highest flow rate, so as to disperse the original liquid as soon as possible.

Monitoring the pH value of cutting fluid
The pH value of cutting fluid is similar to human body temperature, and being too low or too high is detrimental. Generally speaking, the optimal range of cutting fluid is between 8.8 and 9.5. However, when there are problems with the cutting fluid, it is more likely to be "low burning", especially in summer when the start-up rate is not high, and the probability of pH reduction is higher.

Measures for reducing pH value
1. It is still within a controllable range, and the concentration can be appropriately increased by 1-2%, and the management of floating oil and regular circulation can be strengthened.

2. When the pH value is between 8.5 and 8.8, an appropriate amount of pH enhancer specified by the manufacturer can be added and the microbial content can be tested.

3. When pH<8.5, the cutting fluid will have a strange odor, which requires immediate sterilization treatment. At the same time, it is necessary to contact the cutting fluid supplier to jointly identify the cause and develop a reasonable solution.

How to change cutting fluid

2. During the hot summer and rainy season, it is recommended to change the fluid once a month and a half;
3. The liquid change cycle in winter can be more than three months;
4. Replace every other season every two months.

Precautions for replacing cutting fluid

1. Machine tool cleaning before replacement

The old cutting fluid to be replaced often contains a large amount of machining metal powder and dirt, and a certain amount of machining debris and dirt accumulates inside the machine tool pipeline. Therefore, before changing the fluid, pull out the cutting fluid groove, drain the old cutting fluid in the groove, shovel away the chips in the groove and manually remove the residual chips. Clean the system to prevent infection with new fluids, leading to rapid decay of the new fluids. System cleaning requires adding system cleaning agent for system cleaning, and starting the working fluid pump to circulate for several hours. Ensure that bacteria, yeast, and fungi are removed from the pipeline.


2. Machine tool cleaning
Thoroughly brush the machine tool with a new cutting fluid with a concentration of more than 10%, especially the chip holding groove and the entire circle of chip conveyor tracks, to remove residual oil. Finally, use the newly prepared cutting fluid to brush the bottom and side walls of the solution tank, without any dirty oil residue, and rinse thoroughly with water.

3. Daily maintenance
After mixing the cutting fluid with water and adding it to the machine tool, it is important to avoid standing idle for a long time. When the machine tool is not in production, it is best to turn on the pump every day to circulate the cutting fluid for 30 minutes.

4. Adding cutting fluid
When adding cutting fluid during the production process, it is necessary to add it according to the usage ratio specified in the manual. It is strictly prohibited to only add water without cutting fluid, otherwise it may cause rusting of the product.
