The so-called difficult-to-process material is relative to the easy-to-process material, and it is related to the composition of the material and the heat treatment process. Generally speaking, materials containing chromium, nickel, molybdenum, manganese, titanium, vanadium, aluminum, niobium, tungsten and other elements are called difficult-to-cut materials. These materials contain many hard spots, have great mechanical scratching effect, low thermal conductivity, and easy chipping out. Therefore, they are in a state of extreme pressure lubrication friction during the cutting process. The cutting fluid requirements for cutting difficult-to-machine materials are relatively high, and the cutting fluid must have good lubricity and cooling properties.

1. When cutting difficult-to-machine materials with super-hard high-speed tool steel, extreme pressure emulsion or extreme pressure cutting oil with a mass fraction of 10% to 15% should be selected.

2. When cutting difficult-to-machine materials with cemented carbide tools, an extreme pressure emulsion with a mass fraction of 10% to 20% or a vulcanized cutting oil should be used.

It should be pointed out here that some industrial and mining enterprises use animal and vegetable oils as cutting fluids for cutting difficult-to-process materials, which is too wasteful. Although animal and vegetable oils can be used as cutting fluids for cutting difficult-to-process materials and can achieve cutting results, the prices of animal and vegetable oils are relatively high, and many of them are edible oils. It is unreasonable for cutting fluids to compete with people for food, and they are easily oxidized and deteriorated. , This will increase production costs. However, extreme pressure cutting oil can completely replace animal and vegetable oils as a cutting fluid for cutting difficult-to-machine materials. We should use as little or no animal and vegetable oil as possible as cutting fluid.

After the cutting process is completed, the cutting fluid hose should also be used to flush away the chips and particles on the surface of the machine tool, and the machine protection door should be opened to disperse the moist air in the machine tool processing area. Why do you do that?

Reason: During the machining process, as long as the cutting fluid is continuously sprayed and coated on the bare metal surface, the anti-rust additives in the cutting fluid can prevent the metal surface in the machine tool processing area from rusting. However, when the machine is shut down for several hours, rust may occur. Because the water in the cutting fluid is evaporating during processing, almost 100% relative humidity is formed in the machining area of the machine tool. Once the machine tool is shut down, the temperature begins to drop, and the moisture in the air condenses on the surface of the metal parts. As the condensed water will gradually dilute the anti-rust paint additive, the corrosion resistance retained in the cutting fluid will gradually be lost. Therefore, it is very important to take the above-mentioned measures.
