Anti-rust oil, of course, can increase the ability and effect of salt spray resistance. But this method of salt spray test involves too many links. Therefore, in order to be relatively objective and reasonable, it is recommended that all customers must follow the method of use we provide, rather than just throw it in the water. Or soak in salt water (the salt spray test discussed in this article is limited to the test situation done with a salt spray machine in accordance with industry standards)

Generally, what are the possible reasons that may affect the results of the salt spray test of the workpiece: Here is a summary.

1. It may indeed be the cause of the anti-rust oil itself. To re-improve the anti-rust oil formula, such as the thickness of the oil film, should it be changed?


2. When the product is soaked in anti-rust oil, is it completely soaked? Some products are not very regular, and some have special grooves. Once such places are not soaked, rust spots are likely to appear behind them.


3. Is it tested with a salt spray machine? According to our on-site inspections of many customers, we found that some customers are directly soaked with 5% salt water.


4. Is the salt water concentration of 5% accurate? When I met a customer outside, the conversion of salt water concentration was wrong.


5. After completely soaking the anti-rust oil, should you go to the test immediately? At this time, the oil film has not fully formed, and the anti-rust effect is naturally poor. Generally, we recommend customers to dry the product naturally for 10-24 hours after it is completely soaked in the anti-rust oil. If the oil film is to be fully formed, it is best to dry it naturally for 24 hours before testing. If you encounter wet weather like rainy days, this natural drying time should be at least 24 hours, or even a little longer.


6. During the natural drying period, did you touch the product directly with your hands? If any, sweat stains on your hands will also cause damage to the anti-rust film.


7. When the product is placed in the salt spray machine, is it flat? Or is it placed at an angle of 15° in accordance with strict industry standards?


8. Is the ambient temperature of the test 35℃ or a higher temperature?


9. What is the storage environment of anti-rust oil? Are there other impurities entering? Or mixed with other oils of other brands? This may affect its actual anti-rust effect.


10. Is there a pickling process before using the anti-rust oil? (We encountered a customer case like this before. If it weren’t for going to the site later, he would never tell us that they had this process. After pickling, they did not do any treatment, so they just soaked in anti-rust oil. This is It will definitely affect its anti-rust effect.)


11. Is there any other process after the product has finished oiling? For example, drying in a dryer, these may affect the subsequent salt spray test.


12. If the product has started to rust, is there any test after removing the rust?

Once it is confirmed that there is no obvious problem in the operation, if the test still cannot be passed, the formula of the anti-rust oil must be perfected.
