Hydraulic oil can be described as the "blood" of hydraulic machinery. Most of the faults of the hydraulic system can be found by detecting and observing the condition of the hydraulic oil to find the cause of the fault, so as to eliminate the fault.

1. The hydraulic oil is cloudy with impurities
There are three main types of impurities in hydraulic oil, namely solid impurities (debris, solid particles, solid impurities formed by the deterioration of hydraulic oil, etc.), liquid impurities (mainly water, followed by viscous impurities formed by the deterioration of hydraulic oil) and gaseous impurities. Impurities (mainly air).

If the hydraulic oil appears white turbid, the possibility of solid impurities or liquid viscous impurities can be excluded, which can only be caused by water or air. The hydraulic oil can be sampled and tested. Drop the oil sample on the hot iron plate, if bubbles appear (water turns into water vapor to form bubbles at high temperature), it can be determined that there is water in the hydraulic oil; otherwise, the hydraulic oil contains air.

If the hydraulic oil is mixed with water to cause turbidity, let the hydraulic oil stand for a period of time, let the water sink to the bottom of the hydraulic oil tank, and then remove the water. However, if the moisture content is too high and the hydraulic oil is emulsified, it needs to be replaced with a new hydraulic oil.

If it is determined that air is mixed with the hydraulic oil to cause turbidity, check the hydraulic system pipeline for air leakage and cut off the source of air mixing.

2. Hydraulic oil temperature rises abnormally
The root causes of the abnormal rise in hydraulic oil temperature are as follows:
First, because the pressure setting value of the safety valve is too low, most of the hydraulic oil flows back to the oil tank through the safety valve, resulting in the low working efficiency of the hydraulic system. very high:
Second, due to the poor cooling effect of the cooling system, the temperature of the hydraulic oil is too high;
The third is that the hydraulic oil circulates too frequently in the oil circuit (often caused by insufficient oil), resulting in difficult heat dissipation and increased temperature.

The fault diagnosis should be from easy to difficult. First check the oil quantity in the hydraulic oil tank. If the oil quantity in the oil tank is insufficient, it should be added to the standard liquid level in time. When filling, pay attention to using hydraulic oil of the same grade, and filter it before use.

If the amount of oil is appropriate, it is necessary to check whether the oil cooling system is blocked. If the oil cooling system is found to be obstructing air circulation, it should be cleaned in time to ensure normal air circulation and facilitate heat dissipation. Sometimes the fan tape is too loose and slippery, which will also lead to lower fan efficiency and poor cooling effect. It should be checked and adjusted in time, and new tape should be replaced if necessary.

If there is no problem with the oil quantity, oil cooling system, and fan tape, it can be determined that the set pressure of the main safety valve is lower than the standard value. The pressure setting of the main safety valve should be adjusted again to the standard value.

3. The hydraulic oil is too dirty
If the hydraulic oil is dirty or too dirty, it may be that the oil has undergone chemical changes due to long-term use; it may also be that there are too many impurities and physical changes have occurred. Once you find the reasons for these 2 changes, you can take appropriate action.

In the absence of necessary testing equipment and equipment, a relatively simple and practical method is to use filter paper to determine whether the hydraulic oil has undergone chemical changes or physical changes.

Sampling the hydraulic oil, drop the oil on the filter paper, and observe the oil halo formed. Replace the new oil; if the oil halo spreads evenly, it means that the hydraulic oil has too much impurities, check the oil filter in time, replace the filter element, and replace the new hydraulic oil if necessary.
