According to the accuracy and efficiency of wire cutting, it can be divided into fast wire, medium wire and slow wire.

Wire cutting fluid and cutting fluid are both metalworking fluids, but they cannot be confused.

The difference between wire cutting fluid and cutting fluid
1. From the perspective of application scenarios, wire cutting fluid is a working fluid acting on EDM machine tools, which plays the role of conducting electricity, cooling and removing chips. The cutting fluid acts on the cutting and grinding of CNC and grinding machines, and mainly plays the role of lubrication, cooling, cleaning and rust prevention.

The application scenarios are different, so here is a reminder to buy in a targeted manner when purchasing, and try not to mix them up.

From the perspective of components, cutting fluids are mainly oily and water-based, namely emulsified oil, microemulsion cutting fluid, semi-synthetic cutting fluid, and Fully Synthetic Cutting Fluid; oily cutting fluid is composed of basic mineral oil and additives, and water-based cutting fluids such as Fully synthetic cutting fluids are mineral-free and consist of environmentally friendly additives.

There are water-based, oil-based and oil-water mixed types for wire cutting. Similar to water-based cutting fluid, compared with oil-based wire-cutting fluid, water-based wire-cutting fluid has a longer service life and can be processed for a long time without changing the fluid.

Can wire cutting fluid be used as cutting fluid?


From the essence of wire cutting fluid and cutting fluid, the most important thing is that there is an ingredient called explosive agent in the additive component of the wire cutting fluid. Its existence is to promote discharge during wire cutting; but in the cutting fluid, it is without this ingredient.

One of the main performance indicators of wire cutting fluid is the dielectric properties. Properly improving the dielectric properties while ensuring electrical discharge machining can reduce the loss of pulse energy in dielectric breakdown, and have good wetting, cleaning and chip removal. Just cooling, lubricating, rust prevention.

In a word, in addition to wire cutting, wire cutting fluid can also be used in simple machining processes such as turning, milling, and grinding, but cutting fluid cannot be used as wire cutting fluid.

Maintenance and purification of wire cutting fluid

Cleaning of the water circuit of the wire cutting machine: The dirty liquid contains a large amount of mixed metal powders and impurities such as molybdenum, iron, carbon powder, and sludge. Therefore, when changing the liquid, the water tank, workpiece table and pipeline should be thoroughly cleaned.

Purification and reuse of wire cutting fluid: Use Trier centrifuge series equipment to purify impurities and pollutants in wire cutting fluid to reduce environmental protection costs.

In addition, for factories with a large number of units, the centralized liquid supply and return system can also be used to efficiently remove the impurities in the wire cutting fluid through the pipeline, and it can always be used for cyclic cutting with the best performance.
