What are the limitations of grease in use?

First of all, the grease is semi-solid and does not flow at room temperature, so it is difficult to add or change grease for friction parts, and the cleaning of bearing is not very convenient. At the same time, the mixed moisture, dust and debris are difficult to remove. Unlike the impurities in the lubricating oil, they generally sink in the lower part and can be easily removed by the oil filter.


Secondly, the stirring resistance is large, so the heat is large and the cooling effect is poor. However, this situation is closely related to the lubrication mode, such as the fire-resistant tunnel kiln induced draft fan, the motor power is 75kW, the speed is 960r / min, the oil bath full immersion lubrication is used on the support bearing, and the bearing temperature is 4-6 ℃ lower than that of the original 68 lubricating oil.


Finally, it is not suitable for high speed. Generally speaking, ordinary mineral oil lubricating grease can only be used when the DN value is less than 300000. With the development of grease technology, synthetic grease can be used up to 500000-600000 or even 1000000. The highest temperature and highest speed of grease is the engine bearing of high altitude unmanned jet reconnaissance aircraft. In order to reduce the weight of aircraft, grease is used for lubrication.
