Anti wear hydraulic oil (HM) is mainly used in hydraulic systems of heavy-duty, medium pressure, high-pressure vane pumps, plunger pumps, and gear pumps. Hydraulic systems for medium and high pressure construction machinery, imported equipment and vehicles, such as CNC machine tools, tunnel boring machine, crawler cranes, coal cutters and other hydraulic systems.

Today, let's take a look at the differences in performance between No. 46 anti wear hydraulic oil and No. 68 anti wear hydraulic oil:

1. Different kinematic viscosity
At 40 ℃ in the laboratory, the kinematic viscosity of two types of hydraulic oil is different.

The viscosity of 46 # anti wear hydraulic oil is 46 ± 5, and the viscosity of 68 # anti wear hydraulic oil is 68 ± 5.

It is very common to say that the viscosity of No. 46 anti wear hydraulic oil is thinner than that of No. 68 anti wear hydraulic oil. If it is winter, a thinner viscosity will be used to facilitate circulation; In summer, when the temperature is high, the viscosity is higher.

2. Different pour points
In practical use, there is still a significant difference in the pour point between No. 46 anti wear hydraulic oil and No. 68 anti wear hydraulic oil. For example, in the central region, the temperature remains around 0 ℃ for a long time in winter. If you use No. 68 anti wear hydraulic oil in summer, your equipment may have poor cold start performance in winter, and severe hydraulic equipment may not operate properly.

3. Different air release values
The air release value of No. 46 anti wear hydraulic oil shall not exceed 10 minutes; The air release value of No. 68 anti wear hydraulic oil shall not exceed 13 minutes. In standard experiments, the time required for bubbling to rise to the oil surface is called the air release value of the lubricating oil. The smaller the air release value, the faster bubbles can rise and the better the air release.

How to choose 46 # and 68 # anti wear hydraulic oil?
The question of how to choose anti wear hydraulic oil No. 46 and No. 68 is actually based on the operating conditions of your equipment to determine which one is more suitable. Hydraulic oil is classified into 22, 32, 46, 68 and other grades based on the 40 ℃ kinematic viscosity. 46 and 68 are only two different viscosity grades in anti wear hydraulic oil, with higher viscosity compared to HM 46 and HM 68. The customer's choice of which viscosity grade depends mainly on the operating temperature at which the system is started and the type of pump used.

Customers must refer to the recommended level requirements in the equipment manual. It is important to choose the appropriate viscosity. If the viscosity of hydraulic oil is too high, the energy loss of the hydraulic system will be large, the system efficiency will be low, and the oil pump suction will be difficult; If the viscosity is too small, the internal leakage of the oil pump will be large, and the volume loss will increase, which will also reduce the system efficiency.
