Stamping oil selection principle 1: select according to the material to be stamped
①Silicon steel plate
Silicon steel plate is a material that is easier to punch, and most of them require the oil film attached to be able to dry quickly after punching. At the same time, to prevent the burr of the punched product and prolong the life of the die, the selected stamping oil has the highest viscosity as possible, the drying time is short, and the stamping oil with good rust resistance and no carbon is produced after annealing.


②Carbon steel

The stamping oil with suitable viscosity is mainly selected according to the difficulty of processing.


③Tin Plated Steel

Stamping oil without chlorine additives to prevent white rust.


④Aluminum, aluminum alloy

Stamping oil containing chlorine and sulfur additives cannot be used, preferably a stamping oil with a neutral pH value.


⑤Stainless steel plate

It is easy to cause work hardening. It requires the use of lubricating oil with high oil film strength and good sintering resistance. It is required that the lubricating oil has a high viscosity and good cooling properties.


⑥Copper, copper alloy

Stamping oil containing sulfur and sulfur should not be used, and stamping oil with oily agent and good sliding properties should be selected.

For some common stamping materials and materials, what are the specific requirements when selecting stamping oil?

1. If the stamping is silicon steel sheet, silicon steel sheet is a material that is relatively easy to punch. Most of them require that the surface of the workpiece can be dried quickly after punching without oil residue. At the same time, it is necessary to prevent burrs during punching and prolong the service life of the mold. Therefore, if it is a stamping oil for silicon steel sheets, try to choose a stamping oil with a slightly higher viscosity, which can be volatile, does not produce carbon deposits after annealing, and has certain anti-rust properties.


2. If the stamping is tin-plated steel plate, it is necessary to consider choosing stamping oil without chlorine to prevent the surface of the workpiece from turning white.


3. If it is stamped aluminum or aluminum alloy, stamping oil containing chlorine and sulfur additives cannot be used, otherwise it will be easily oxidized. Generally, it is recommended to use stamping oil with neutral pH.


4. If the stamping is a stainless steel plate, it is easy to produce work hardening during the stamping process. It is required to use stamping oil with high oil film strength and good sintering resistance. It is required that the stamping oil has a certain viscosity and good cooling properties.


5. If stamping copper or copper alloy, stamping oil containing chlorine and sulfur additives cannot be selected, and stamping oil with oily agent and good fluidity should be selected.


6. If it is to punch stainless steel, it is generally recommended to use special punching oil for stainless steel, which has high requirements for extreme pressure, no burr on the workpiece, and obvious protection effect on the mold.
    
According to the requirement of volatility, stamping oil can be simply divided into non-volatile stamping oil and volatile stamping oil. Volatile stamping oil is especially suitable for high-strength operations such as punching, stamping, thread tapping, and tapping. At the same time, it is also very suitable for plastic forming processing.
