Recently, a customer came to us and said that the stainless steel oil they bought from others was very sticky, and the products were all sticky. The machine is caked. Technicians were arranged here to check the cause. After testing and analysis, it was found that the problem was caused by the high viscosity of stainless steel cutting oil. A master was arranged to clean the machine, remove all the previous oil products, replace them with stainless steel special cutting oil, and keep samples for storage. He always paid attention to all the dynamics of the machine after using the oil products. After three months of use, the customer said that the product and the machine were all normal. Many customers will not solve the problems caused by using cutting oil. I will summarize the problems and solutions for you here.

Case 1. The tool durability is reduced due to friction and wear (the wear of the rear tool face increases sharply)


Reason:

Mechanical wear due to insufficient lubrication at the tool tip

Solution:
1. Select oil-based stainless steel cutting oil with high fat content

2. Replace the active stainless steel cutting oil with the inactive oil-based stainless steel cutting oil

3. If the stainless steel cutting oil is obviously deteriorated, it should be replaced with new liquid

4. Increase the liquid supply volume and pressure, and directly supply liquid to the rear cutter face

5. When using water-based stainless steel cutting oil, select emulsified cutting oil containing extreme pressure additives with excellent lubricity and use it at high concentration


Case 2 The blade tip is bonded, and the chip lump is broken

Reason:
Due to poor viscosity resistance, the scaling tumor increases abnormally; The damage and spalling of the cutting edge caused by the breakage of the built-up chip will lead to friction and wear.

Solution:
1. Replace with cutting fluid with strong activity

2. Check the activity. If it decreases, add additives (oil-based cutting oil)

3. Replace water-based cutting oil with oil-based cutting oil

Case 3 Excessive heating causes reduction of tool durability (tool tip softening, melting, chip discoloration)

Reason:
Insufficient cooling for the heat storage of the tool tip

Solution:
1. The oil change base cutting oil is water-based cutting oil

2. Increase the fuel supply volume and pressure

3. Keep the temperature of cutting oil (not rising)

Case 4. Poor machining accuracy

Reason:
Uneven or insufficient cooling
Excessive cutting depth due to adhesion of built-up tumors

Solution:
1. Sufficient oil supply

2. Keep the cutting temperature constant

3. Replace with oil-based cutting oil with excellent viscosity resistance

4. Supplement extreme pressure additive (oil-based cutting oil)
