(1) When choosing cold heading oil for carbon steel, the best viscosity should be determined according to the difficulty of the process. It is also necessary to pay attention to the rust of the machine and workpiece caused by the chlorine type cold heading oil. Upsetting oil can effectively avoid rust problems. (2) Stainless steel is a material that is prone to hardening, and requires the use of cold heading forming oil with high oil film strength and excellent extreme pressure and anti-wear properties. Generally, oil products containing sulfur-chlorine compound additives are used to ensure extreme pressure performance and avoid problems such as blackening of workpieces and breakage of punches.
Reasons for deterioration of cold heading oil during use: 1. The anti-oxidation properties of cold heading forming oil at high temperature deteriorate, aggravating its thermal decomposition, oxidation and polymerization. At the same time, the dust and moisture in the air enter through the air intake system to contaminate the cold heading oil, so the cold heading oil is easy to deteriorate. 2. The viscosity of lubricating oil changes with the increase of temperature, that is, the viscosity of cold heading oil decreases when it is heated, which is easy to cause the consumption of cold heading oil too fast. 3. At high temperature, the density of cold heading forming oil changes, and the thermal expansion of metal parts is large, and the normal matching gap between the parts and the mold becomes smaller, which leads to increased wear of the die punch. To sum up, when we choose cold heading oil, we need to choose the appropriate oil according to its processing material and process. During use, we should pay attention to the use temperature, and regularly check whether the oil has deteriorated. If there is any deterioration, it should be replaced immediately, otherwise it will As a result, the quality of the processed parts is not satisfactory, so it is recommended that a special person check and change the oil regularly when using it.
