What is the difference between barium petroleum sulfonate and sodium petroleum sulfonate in the application of antirust oil? Both products are sulfonate antirust agents. Generally speaking, petroleum barium sulfonate is better. Sodium petroleum sulfonate is soluble in both oil and water, and the prepared oil is emulsified in water. Therefore, it is inferior to barium petroleum sulfonate in terms of damp heat resistance and salt spray resistance. Sodium petroleum sulfonate is commonly used to prepare emulsified oil.
Barium petroleum sulfonate is divided into liquid and solid. Barium petroleum sulfonate is the product obtained from the sulfonation of petroleum lubricating oil fraction, alcohol water extraction, barium salt saponification and refining. It is used in antirust grease as antirust additive. Liquid barium petroleum sulfonate is more convenient in use, no longer subject to the interference of high temperature weather, and easier to store, eliminating the procedure of high temperature melting during use. Barium petroleum sulfonate has excellent moisture resistance, salt spray resistance, salt water resistance and water displacement performance, and has excellent rust resistance to ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Barium petroleum sulfonate has good oil solubility after heating, and can adsorb on the metal surface to form a protective film to prevent metal corrosion and rusting.
Barium petroleum sulfonate is suitable for use as antirust agent in antirust grease, such as preparing replacement antirust oil, antirust oil between processes, sealing oil, lubricating antirust dual-use oil and antirust grease.
